Stock value is market cap divided by shares on issue. Share price (and market cap) go up as shares are sold for more then they where originally traded for. the inverse is also true.You should understand this and also how to calculate an estimate of a company's value independent of anyone else otherwise you will always be behind the eight ball or worse fall victim to ramping.
