The ability to reason one's way out of this mess has passed a long time ago. However I would say that if Israel wants to keep expanding its land holdings in the region, it will probably be making things worse. The trend in this regard over the last 40 years don't give me much grounds for optimism. At some point they will need to be very, very careful about where they pick their next ground war.
