My local Woolworths is not one of the largest stores in inner Melbourne but it has a whole display case full of salmon. At a quick guess I'd estimate 70 per cent is either Tassal or De Costi Seafoods (subsidiary) products, which is fantastic in Australia's #1 supermarket chain.
My wife hadn't eaten Tassal products before. She's asked me to buy salmon cuts again. If that's typical consumer reaction among even five per cent of the population, TGR is on to a winner in Victoria during our five km trave restriction and closed restaurants/cafes for dining in scenario.
Once 'hooked', there's some chance consumers will in future buy more TGR products, provided as always there's no adverse publicity from contamination.
