Not sure why PayPal had failed where others succeeded. They have had a product called "PayPal Credit" which is essentially BNPL that has been running for a few years and no luck launching it here. They are just rehashing/tweaking that product to jump on the BNPL bandwagon - however the other players have already formed links with the big boys ie afterpay and Apple, zip and amazon.
In the end all of the players that have successful launched are going to be the new credit cards. PayPal will probs be AMEX, AfterPay will be VISA, zip will be Mastercard etc
