@Transversal then what you will learn is that incidents like these are good opportunities. I am no means a wise investor but what I have learned and observed is buying quality stocks and holding them is way better if you are in for long run. IFL is a quality stock and they will come back, so are: CSL, ARB, RHC, RMD, CBA, REH, and many more. If you have a full time job, cannot afford to read and learn about financial reporting and assessing companies (just like the majority of us), it is better to stick to some good companies and forget about what is happening. 2-3 years from now, you will be better off. On the other hand, you can follow Google, broker notes, hot copper sensational posts, and you will be in trouble.
Looking back at IFL, the reason IFL is selling for 3.50 is not because something is fundamentally wrong with them rather they are acquiring another business at a 'good price' and they are really good at what they do. I hold this stock before and for no good reason, I sold a year ago making some profit and was not thinking to buy back but then while login into CommSec, it caught my attention due to the high volume and bought at 3.65 because I believe it is a good value at this price. Now if the stock goes below 3.5 or even less, I will buy another parcel not because I 'know' what I am doing here but because I know the company 'is responsible and smarter'.
