Maybe I've got it wrong but are there posts here that really do pursue the idea that Covid-19 is just another flu and we should all buy of box of tissues and get over it?
That would be the equivalent of watching India and China scuffling over their border without appreciating that these are nuclear powers with, at least on one side, very irrational fingers on the button.
I've posted this before but a repeat seems timely:

I must concede that this could just be another flu and the economically destructive restrictions on life and commerce are misapplied. But that view expresses a risk management philosophy identical to that of the goons who just blew up Beirut and annihilated Lebanese life. The "nothing's gone wrong until it's gone wrong" strategy.
Now get this (I know many of you do). This is a new threat. We may not have seen its like before. It may turn out to be just a bad example of flu. But we now have much more sensitive assessments of the intimate pathology than we had in 1919, 1955 and even early this millennium. I have been treating flu for half a century. An awkward, uncomfortable and uncommonly fatal (compared to total case rate) inconvenience. But I've never seen anything that attacks the endothelium like this. That's the lining of every blood vessel in your body. Flu doesn't do that. And when something makes a widespread attack on endothelium you need to recognise the threat and prepare for it. Not dismiss it because you imagine you have seen its like before. The evidence is, you haven't.
