Paypal have their own problems - they are being phased out of Ebay and are being replaced with a simpler all in one tech payment system at the Ebay checkout instead of the transaction being done on a separate safe site by Paypal. Setting up a BNPL system of their own is just them in the process of trying to shore up their penetration more than setting out to knock off the opposition. So agree with you - IMO FXL is not a target for them nor is any other BNPL player - just them trying to offer something to keep their clientele using their system. They are also sending out notices about signing up to Paypal as your preferred payment system in an effort to keep their exposure as an auto setting on your own PC or tech instrument.
