It has literally been 5 years of "the end is nigh" for property on this website (to the best of my knowledge, it may have been going longer).
So far, nada, nothing, zero, zilch. Quite the opposite has happened, property prices just kept going on their merry way.
I remember last year I congratulated a poster called Zen_Machine (who is probably still posting under another name) on his anniversary.
A post he made last year was exactly one year later than another post he had made the previous year. Of course the 2007 post was full of information about why the end for property was just around the corner and in 2008 his answer was "well it will be THIS year" (Still waiting).
No need for me to reiterate on who the grandaddy of doomsayers is, you all know him and love him for his consistency even though he has always been proven wrong.
SO! When? When will the 40%, 30%, 20% crash come? By mid year 2009? By the end of 2009? Later? Is Prof Keen right when he says 15 years from now?
What form will it take? Will it be a slow decline until some low percentage point from now? Will it be a sudden collapse over 3 - 6 months?
And if you can tell us when and how, can you tell us when property prices will begin an upward climb or will they never rise again?
What EXACTLY is the forecast guys?
