hey BRNers. i was wondering if one of the tech peoples could help me out with something relating to our chip. i have a fairly good understanding of how neurons in the brain work with voltage gated ion channels and threshholds etc. and i can see how this is simulated by computer code and also hardware. With akida we hear things like 10 billion neural connections etc.

But one of the main advantages the human brain has is its 3 dimentional structure. in that neurons can connect up, down, left and right, foward and backwarss etc. a brain cell might have several synaptic connections from all different angles adding or subtracting from an action potential firing. But when were talking about a chip, its essentially a 2 dimentional structure.

So i suppose the question is, does the akida chip simulate this type of 3 dimmentional structure of the brain through hardware of the chip, or software, or it doesnt need to as it works in a different way?
