    A lot of people willing to invest in share prices at the moment (A) but less looking to invest in companies and their future prospects (B).

    A: No direct (and instantaneous) income from the announcement so they sell and are off to look for the pot of gold elsewhere.

    B: Greatly enhanced prospects for the company so they quietly add to their holdings. No need to pay up, group A will hand you their shares
