Why approach this in such moralistic terms. Couldn't it be that these things are simply cyclical? Just about everyone participates - if you don't then you won't get anywhere in life. CEOs won't get their bonuses, companies will fall behind the competition, middle managers won't get promoted, young families won't own their own home, governments won't get elected, nations fall behind their neighbors. You have no choice but to play the game or sit on the sidelines (probably in a dole queue).
