I think that that may be the issue Oaktree, I reckon they are testing all of the compounds they have found to see if there are others that may help, BIT225 has already been tested in humans, these tests will prove whether or not it works with Covid19 or not, I reckon Biotron are thinking similar to what you are thinking, I reckon they may be looking for a fast track for a Cure for Covid19, separate from the HIV drug for the same reasons you give.
It may mean that they use BIT225 and some other compounds they find helpful for the Covid 19 drug, something that would distinguish it from the HIV drug in Phase 2 now.
