One hypothesis is that the seller at close yesterday heard that dxb would announce trading halt before open today.

knowing beforehand that dxb would announce trading halt the next day of course is market sensitive information...I am sure we would have all liked to have known this information too.

Because, if you know for sure when a biotech is about to announce a trading halt pending key results, then you can play the “buy into anticipatory hype and and sell before judgement day news...and in process, make a very decent and safe profit.

DXB's share price has run up beautifully in the last few weeks in anticipation of this believed “sure-thing” positive results outcome.

Another hypothesis, and perfectly legal and quite savvy, is that the trader turns day-trader closer to trading halt time. they buy up big early in the day and sell the lot at end of day, knowing that trading halts invariably happen at pre-market open....

however, there is no evidence of this having happened in the previous days, according to that great analysis of end of day trading posted above.
