One thing is for sure, there are not many votes in investing in a national metro and regional freight network including passenger terminals etc.Plus it takes some thought.
Building base load energy production and dams is to hard.
So both sides will take the easy route when they say their going to invest in infrastructure, they will build and upgrade roads.
Or something voters find exciting particularly nsw,a very fast train $200b.
Just like building a govt owned monopoly fixed network or designing from scratch a diesel/electric submarine. The voters wanted it.imo only.
