    sting1.

Two reasons to short (off the tpo of my head): a) if an insto, or other miner are outside looking in, and they see DEG's potential, maybe they want in. Like retail they'll want the best -- lowest -- price, so try to beat it down, then buy, and; b) The POG does come down, it can be bad-volatile, and the CoTs* are almost permanently short.

I'm certain others here have further motivations to short, eg. build risk in the near/mid-term, ie. an operating mine nearing its commissioning is fraught with risks from technical processing/operational issues. Also, who knows the POG as completion nears its end. Finally, but not last, if the miner has a horrendous hedge position it's noy capturing the full POG moves up, but it is paying debt.

    That's a start.

    * Note on the CoTs, being perpetually short it is the trend of inrease-decine of those poositions to consider.
