The Economist commodity-price index

Sorry but I don't know how to paste the graphic into this post. The current The Economist has an index of commodity prices.
Year on year, food is down 17 % (in USD). Overall the index is down 30% (includes industrials and metals and non-food agi's as well).
And I've just heard on ABC News Radio (it is the best station around for economics and politics; don't confuse it with ABC Radio or Radio national. It is pure news and has some great bits from the US and the UK) that Japanese car manufacturers are going to cut 25000 jobs by the end of March.
Reminds me of the song by the Doors: This is the end . . . my only friend. The end. Of everything that stands . . . the end.
