They are not rules....they are contracts which no-one is obliged to enter into.
If one doesn't understand the obligations required and risks involved, then one should not enter into such an agreement.
Pretty simple really.
Lenders have every right to protect their capital...it is the borrower who chooses what to invest into...why should the lender wear the consequences if it doesn't turn out right?
