@pintohoo; as a young boy I used to travel on Melbourne's red rattlers - even travelling to watch Thunderball premiere at the Old Regent Theatre in Collins Street from way out in the suburbs - Edithvale!
Back then the red rattlers were clean, ran on time and were incredibly reliable - times did indeed change though when Kennett ran a machete through Victoria's public transport system throughout much of the 1990s!
