It's better to have 100m at 1g, with open pit mining and the current gold price its a lot more profitable to go for the 100 @ 1.
Also having a 1m at 100g is way too hard to process, a lot of processing plants struggle to process gold over 5g and often have to dilute for it to be the case.
optimum processing plant grade is 3-4gs
