First, I think it would be more than nice to see COP take up the next FO following Charlie-1 success.
Paul Basinski worked for COP for a lifetime. He was a Key man in its long term success.
This is miniscule money for COP, even under current financial circumstances.
They have the technology muscle to make things happen.
They have been a mainstay of the Prudhoe Bay Region for 30 years.
The benefit to them would/could be quite substantial.
Second, XCD should not be first, Charlie-2 (or whatever name) should be next FO.
We should learn from past mistakes.
If BoD want a drink of water, stay in the Dead Horse Hotel.
There is no need to join in a consortium to do an unplanned $15m drill on Western Blocks.
IF that area was genuinely 'oily', then 3D Seismic with computer processing should have been done.
Then we jointly only waste $3m or so.
Same with Peregrine and XCD plot.
The professional way is 3D Seismic and computer processing.
Even Yukon has this benefit to make important step towards FO.
Find the two best positions to drill at Peregrine / XCD. Then Drill.
After all, we have paid 20% of our shareholding to buy this company.
Let us break the 88E habit of drilling in the wrong place.....
