After his early failures, heavy-handed policies and incompetence in tracing and quarantine, Dan Andrews probably had few options left to pull Victoria back in line with the rest of the country. I fear for the mental health of Victorians though. My family, friends and colleagues there seem to be going quite batty. Hypnotised by hours of endless Andrew media conferences, they parrot his stupid phrases like "Leadership is about hard decisions". As this oddly submissive mindset takes hold, Stockholm Syndrome is occurring en masse amongst trapped Victorians. Whenever a leader wants talk to you for hours at a time, you know they have authoritarian tendencies - it's a thing. Think Castro's 5 hour speeches or Eva and Juan Peron's, Duterte's 3-hour radio broadcasts, Putin's 3 hour Q & As, Trump's rallies or Trump and Andrews' hours-long coronavirus "briefings". The more they can make you listen, the more they imprint themselves upon you, the more submissive you become. Not a good thing for an informed democracy.

”Whenever a leader wants talk to you for hours at a time, you know they have authoritarian tendencies - it's a thing.” bs Dan has put put himself up for questioning by the media as long as they want to keep asking, he is way more open and honest than say Trump, when he gets asked a curly question he just calls them nasty and storms off!
