As a loving Father, you carefully follow the child's journey with perhaps a little anonymous "help" here and there, but spend most of your time resisting the impulse to intervene since you wisely understand that your "child" must find it's own way.
As a loving Father, I hope that I wouldn't do the following.
Leave a set of instructions and guidelines that are full of nuances, contradictions, and a mixture of moral and immoral directives and examples.
Disappear without a trace leaving him/her in the care of someone I know to be evil.
Threaten him/her with eternal damnation of some sort or another for not believing some sort of ill-defined faith.
