Hey Rubiconis, before purchasing this stock I was also wanting to figure out how their Virtual invisible networks (VIN) offer any benefits over other Virtual private LAN (VPLAN) or VPNs. From my understanding, it is better to look at VIN as an alternative to Multi-protocol label switching (MPLS), since it serves the same purpose that VIN does of connecting LANs as if they are in a same broadcast domain - not every use case of a VPN requires the remote user to be within the same broadcast domain. MPLS is expensive and requires expertise to setup but I don't see any reason why businesses using MPLS would want to switch to VIN. From what I understand, VIN is cheaper and easier for smaller businesses without these kinds of resources to set up Virtual LANs.
tldr: VIN is transformational but I don't think it will replace VPN entirely, only for the specific use cases where you want to be in the same broadcast domain and other VLAN options are unsuitable.
