re: Ann: OceanaGold 2008 Q4 Production Report... Excellent quarterly production/cost report - produced nearly 75,000 ozs at cash costs of $US301/oz - very impressive as they had previously projected cash costs of $US425 to $US475 for 2009 on production of 280,000 to 300,000 ozs.
Although cash costs depend on the US/NZ exchange rate as 100% of the costs are incurred in NZ dollars - again it would be better for shareholders if the Company reverted to reporting in NZ dollars to give a clearer picture.
However with a margin of $US625/oz on today's gold price this is starting to look very attractive - keep on selling Ospraie as I could be a buyer very early next week.
