I work in the cloud and solutions provider space for a large multi-national vendor (not in the Geo space), and occasionally work with Accenture as a partner. They are a behemoth and consult to so many big names on cloud strategy as well as delivery projects etc, They can be difficult to work with and navigate as a partner.
While knowing the above, having Accenture as a partner, doesn't necessarily mean it will lead to $ sadly, but Pointerra will need to work them and invest into the partnership i.e. relationships, training, certifications, joint sales strategies etc.. This is an area I would like to see Pointerra invest in and advertise it (which they dont advertise, its not even on the website). I understand and agree with Ian's strategy to grow slow initially, but as they look to scale globally, a strategic partnership model will be critical, and so rewarding!
Nearmap has done this well it seems (surely we will see a similiar page on our Pointerra website in the near future)
What I do love about the Accenture play will be this business unit, Software & Platforms: Geospatial Platforms
I trust Pointerra are engaged heavily with this business unit, and doing what they can to ensure they get listed as a strategic partner.
Add Bevan Slattery to the mix, all of his businesses from Pipe Networks, NextDC, Superloop and Megaport. All these companies are built on well developed partnership models. No doubt, part of his experience and influence will help them build and deliver a well executed partner program here
