He was a perfectionist and a brilliant teacher and quite the gentleman as well. Kidding I wasn't lucky and he really did put
me on a great path but when I look back now - I really had so much to learn.
I had enormous respect for him but it saddened me at times when he was invited for a drink and there were a few of those invites
in his final year. He was not a drinker and I desperately did not want him to look a little foolish.
He was very precise in his language and I was only too happy to be corrected on a couple of occasions - how else do you learn
because sometimes they were fine hairs to split with some phrases.
