No Digger - you can't stop a freight train my friend!!!!
Logically, on say a find of any magnitude it brings a different dimension to the type /quality of buyers who will enter the fray.
It may just mean a huge player say BG or WPL steps in and swallows up whatever Wellington want to divest themselves of ....
On a find ( a quantifeid find) you see these Company's aren't hamstrng so to speak by purchasing a speccie as it is now .... they would go full tilt as they would have the backing of the Directors etc... of the big Company's becasue the math / exposure is fairly easy to see.
Just like Conoco did with Origin on the final anaylsis of data etc they went whammo and made a bid over the top of BG that was staggering to the market
Only 140 million shareholders Digger - look at people having a fl*g over NXS (500,00 million shares on issue) and a potential takeover based on their small find ( in comparison potentially)and Shell etc have seen the resource and are running the numbers.NXS only own 15% of the shelf .... not to mention as i did the other day we are eyeing a prize the size of WPL's in the North West Shelf of which WPL only own 15% of ( we have 40%) and WPL rate the North West Shelf as their biggest asset in the World!!!
Let's say KAR found my 6 TCF's in Poseidon and as we know a TCF fully landed is worth 10 Billion per TCF you do the basic math on what that does to KAR SP then dilute it by 90% if you like for time, infrastructure etc... and it is very rudimentary but it is something like $428.51 per share on 6 TCF find - discount it by 90% for all costs and years held etc.... etc.... and you are still looking at $42 odd per share lets say based on 6TCF find and 90% dilution of price based on everything else and this is without the CONDENSATE......
No doubt we will need to capital raise and there a million and 1 problems associated with what i have put forward. As i said very rudimentary BUT it goes to answering your question as it relates to what effect Wellington selling on a find might have.... probably reinforces the fact that Wellington would rather wait another month or so before selling doesn't it? But they obviously can't!!
Please check my math i am hopeless at it.... but as you see it can't stop the freight train no matter what Wellington does from hereon in!!!
