$150/oz would not succeed given the current gold price and the expected production and (more importantly ) opex and capex cost profiles of both Ayanfuri and Sissingue. Why would the funds and MBL sell at such a low 'valuation' - they're not silly!
I reckon Grigor was just making some noise - raising the interest levels.....
PRU is too big a bite for Redback. i haven't done the research on REdback but I would reckon PRU has more gold in ground. Chirano isn't that big but the Mauritania operation I know little about.
One of the big boys will take PRU without at a shadow of a doubt. Even if Redback made an audacious low ball bid, the big boys would come flooding in over the top before the ink was dry on Redback's bidder's statement. That is the way of the competitive market place.
An appropriate 'valuation' per oz?
North of USD300/oz (assuming a 900/oz market price), substantially more if the gold price runs.....that's just my opinion (based on considerable experience in the game).
Caveat emptor.
