I don't have much time for Stephen Hahn after the convalescent plasma fiasco. But as the pressure starts to build for vaccines to be approved, the FDA will be heavily reliant on advisory committees. Hahn is now trumpeting the importance of their work. The FDA will be relying on them to provide political cover should the evidence not justify approval. Can you imagine the FDA not approving a vaccine if the AdCom voted 9-1 in favour of approval? The possibility of the FDA refusing approval for aGvHD is minuscule given the 9-1 AdCom vote. I would say the substantive decision has already been made and that all that remains is to finalise the paperwork. IMHO DYOR.
