    @madamswer I Just had a bit of a read about gompertz function. (You learn something new every day). My (fledgling level) understanding is that the curve stays the same regardless of what measures a country or state might take. Is this correct? Or does the shape of the graph look the same but the total numbers infected change according to how hard a lockdown is etc?

    if the numbers infected AND the shape of the graph stay the same regardless, then are the new UK restrictions a bit of a waste of time? I'm just trying to get my head around this.....
