Roc bags Mozambique bounty

Roc Oil has won an offshore exploration block off Mozambique next to its existing Belo Profond permit off Madagascar.
Roc said it was awarded the Juan de Nova Maritime Profond permit in late December by the government of France.
The block is located in the French Exclusive Economic Zone in the Mozambique Channel between Mozambique and Madagascar, and covers 52,990 square kilometres.
Roc is operator of the permit with an initial working interest of 75% and Marex Petroleum owns the remainder. The permit was awarded for a five-year term.
The first-year work programme will involve the study of existing geological and geophysical data, said Roc.
