My theory is that the gas pressure is so great that it is causing resistance to the drilling rig, thus slowing the process.
In this situation they need to be pull off on the torque and reduce pace to lower the risk of gas explosions.
Remember it is a matter of how much gas, not if they find it or not.
Just an opinion i thought I would throw into the fray.
