The apostle Paul made it clear that the '' presence of our Lord Jesus Christ '' and the ''day of Jehovah'' would not come until ''the apostasy comes first''.
(2 Thessalonians 2:1, 2) However, brothers, concerning the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ and our being gathered together to him, we ask you not to be quickly shaken from your reason nor to be alarmed either by an inspired statement or by a spoken message or by a letter appearing to be from us, to the effect that the day of Jehovah is here.
(2 Thessalonians 2:3) Let no one lead you astray in any way, because it will not come unless the apostasy comes first and the man of lawlessness gets revealed, the son of destruction.
Since the '' presence of our Lord Jesus '' began in 1914 more and more evidence of the ''apostasy'' from true religion is being provided. Very soon the ''day of Jehovah'' will see the destruction of false religion by the ''ten horns'' of the political system.
(Revelation 17:12) “The ten horns that you saw mean ten kings who have not yet received a kingdom, but they do receive authority as kings for one hour with the wild beast.
Already they are attacking true religion. See the thread 'International condemnation'. It was foretold in these words:
(Revelation 17:14) These will battle with the Lamb, but because he is Lord of lords and King of kings, the Lamb will conquer them. Also, those with him who are called and chosen and faithful will do so.”
Soon however Jehovah will redirect Satan and his agents against false religion.
(Revelation 17:16, 17) And the ten horns that you saw and the wild beast, these will hate the prostitute and will make her devastated and naked, and they will eat up her flesh and completely burn her with fire. For God put it into their hearts to carry out his thought, yes, to carry out their one thought by giving their kingdom to the wild beast, until the words of God will have been accomplished.
Even the laity of the Catholic church can see the corruption in the clergy. What they are failing to realise is that it has been the case since it was first formed. The Protestant movement did not see a return to true worship. This had to await the ''presence of our Lord Jesus'' that began in 1914.
