History always repeats. Earlier empires declined because the elites (1%) took more than their share of income and resources and paid the price in internal malaise, depression, rebellion or external conquest. This is now occurring in America. American is also the first empire in which the whole home American population, though very unequally now, shares in the exploitation of the whole world. Will the rest of the world accept this unequal balance? Or will it revolt against being dragged down into economic chaos? The US dollar now has a target on it's back. The world's utilization of the dollar continues to fall. The American monetization of the now huge deficit will only accelerate this process. The time is steadily approaching when the US dollar safe haven status will evaporate. Gold and silver prices can only appreciate in all currencies over time in this climate.
