I will take the $950, but I feel that with state Governments slashing infrastructure spending and projects, it would be a good chance to really rampy up hospitals schools and utilities.
We have a grave shortages of water and power generation, but foget that. Just blow all that money and at the end of it, we will still need to spend big dollars on infrastructure, but wont have the money to do it.
Oh and then theres the interest payments that will make another surplus further away from reality.
And we dont have a telstra, commonwealth or qantas to sell off to get debt free.
In other words, we are heading for a life of debt and belt tightening.
The cash bonus will result in retail spending going through the roof for a month or 2 and we will be back to the same hole that we find ourselves in now.
