TroyTeslike, who always comes close with his latest estimates before the quarter end, predicts 144,500 deliveries for Tesla in q3 and 187,000 in q4, 510,887 for the full year of 2020. His q3 estimate is only 500 cars below the analyst consensus of Factset Research, which is at 145,000. I think this number is close to what Tesla will announce in the end. However I have seen several photos of parking lots filled with Tesla that were allegedly made very recently and people wrote that Tesla will not be able to empty all those lots before the quarter end based on past observations. Famous Tesla shortseller Mark Spiegel is saying that worldwide capacity is at 173,000 for this quarter referencing Teslas own presentation. And he says that deliveries below that number would point to a lack of demand. Of course Tesla can always make further price cuts.
The accuracy of his last estimate before each quarter end:
• Q3 2019: 96.1%
• Q4 2019: 96.7%
• Q1 2020: 93.9%
• Q2 2020: 98.6%
