Elon Musk has made dozens of grand announcements, with many going nowhere. On this idea:

1. We have No idea if the technology works at an industrial scale. No idea if it works at all
2. It will require plenty of water and Nevada is usually in drought
3. He will probably have to fight the farmers to get water. A huge problem he is unfamiliar with
4. It will probably be 4 years before it has produced anything, plus another year to deal with the various problems
5. It is highly unlikely it will be cost competitive compared to the product being produced by companies like AVZ or even the hard rock miners in Australia, which will be producing at nameplate and in a very efficient manner by 2023.

I think it is yet another story of Musk fluffing Tesla to impress the market.
