printing presses , money form thin air folks get obsessed with ideas and then just repeat them, Bernanke wrote a paper claiming he could make money from thin air in 1999, everyone swallowed it (including me), folks became sure that the Fed would print and infaltion would appear, very few expected the Fed to fail and so we got this urban myth of the Fed being able to print money into existence and there beiong no bounds upon their ability to do it, from this came the Fed hyperinfaltion scenario.

We folks wake up and smell the roses, the biggest bank of them all is failing, the Fed is printing but nothing , zero , zilch is entering the market. Its being destroyed by debt retirement.

Some failry famous economists of the time warned against this development, Irving Fisher and Herman Minksy described the exact circunstances by which the Fed would fail, just google "fisher debt deflation" and you can read the theories for yourself.

This theory sits just as well with fiat lunacy its just another contagion, its like terminal cancer instead of rabies, the key is that the debt it so high now they cant inflate their way out of it.

In any case its still good for gold
