There are many grades of Kaolin you are posibly using lowergrades in "Clay Room" or "Wet End" of paper machine. Skardon River Kaoline is in very short supply and very high brightness
For quality printer paper you would also be using (optical brightners)Titanium Dioxide ($3200 a tonne) to increase brightness on certain papers
Skardon River have grades of Kaolin (brightness higher than ISO 90) as an alternative/replacement to Titanium Dioxide. They are not yet targeting Paper Companies for their very high quality product such as Microbrite CC65 in this case designed for the polymer industry
