What did Rocky say exactly?? I for one would be pretty interested to know..

Defeat in his voice could possibly be influenced by the fact he no longer works at Peak. You would have to attribute at least some of his defeat to the fact that for him at least the gig is up..

Did he leave of his own volition, did he leave because there has been confirmation that the SML will not be granted in the immediate term?.. Did he leave because having an American as the head honcho could be seen as poliarizing? Did he leave because shareholders no longer wished to pay an exorbitant salary while the uncertainty over the SML remained??
All questions, and maybe to sensitive for mgmt to answer at this point.

Some of you will be aware that Orecorp are also waiting on an SML (gold company).
At this stage Orecorp have not received their SML and have been waiting almost as long as PEK, so we cannot yet start to assume the SML has been delayed because of geopolitical reasons relating to China and America and rear earth's...

If Orecorp was to receive their SML soon though we can probably make some assumptions..

Look at the end of the day the project will go ahead and with the progress that has been made with Barrick it would seem unlikely the govt would want to reverse the good work done by confiscating projects -resource nationalism etc. This sort of activity has pretty well known negative consequences and I just don't think it will prevail unless their are some pretty major ructions over the entire African continent.
