Stayer,
LNG is a distinct possibility 'longer' term for NSW - Newcastle. Santos is hooked up with Petronas who is one of the world's largest LNG producers.
Qld LNG could be a possibility 'short' term though. Still unlikley but few are willing to write it off.
Santos are exploring their tenements this year closeby to ESG (south of Gunnedah)with a focus on Bando, Tooraweenah & Murrurundi Troughs and adjacent shelfs. The Bando trough (PEL12) actually extends into PEL238 and may link up to our Bohena trough.
They have a reasonably large seismic program and should have completed about 20 coreholes by early next year I'd say.
AGL are not silly.... They know Santos might make a counter move so why bother with ESG. So really I don't see any t/o action with ESG to be honest. Have said it many a time on here.
But hey I put PES on my watchlist at 20c and never bought.....don't pay too much attention to me.
