re: pukeko - 105m column ?? OMR , its about 15kms to Maui ..... tie-in possibilities ?, and NZ very short of gas atm , so not sure your right about it 'having to be oil'.
You are correct tho , the column is gross , and we must wait for wireline logs ... probably Monday.

I see what you might be asking, viz whether the shows in the higher zone may be indicative of the lower zone having overflowed.
This has to be a possibility and therefore potential evidence ahead of the logs that we do have a substantial hydrocarbon column at least within the lower zone.
An interesting development is the news from the tech thread that actual basement was at 4175m or thereabouts. That makes only 15m between bottom of the gross interval and basement, and has to raise the possibility that the lower 15m is actually within a hydrocarbon shadow. So, if Pukeko-1 has been drilled down shoulder from the actual basement summit and on the opposite side of the summit rise to the producing kitchen [this all appears possible from the predrill mapping], then it appears quite conceivable that the gross section as intersected by Pukeko-1 may flow back across the summit rise and down the other side. This could mean that a greater depth of hydrocarbon column is occurring on this opposite side of the basement high.
Still very early days in the post drill analysis, but this well is continuing to shape up with even further blue sky potential.
Yes, just taken another look at the mapping and it certainly looks like about half the area of potential closure has potential for a deeper hydrocarbon column.
Also, previous comment on Moki/Maari/Maui-4 holds as being indicative of good production out of the kitchens of the Kahurangi Trough. So these major accumulations some 30km beyond Pukeko-1 give additional pointers to Pukeko having developed some quite substantial hydrocarbon accumulation.
The logs willing.
