I remember a smart Australian saying when he went to school, he was told New Zealand produced no gold.
Dunedin in the height of the Otago gold bom in 1861-1875 was a richer town than Bendigo and Melbourne. Some of the old houses still reflect thsi wealth, based on Central Otago gold mines.
OGC has a hufge backlog of tenements part rilled but in the extremely rich Clutha valley. They also have a large potential expansion at their signature McRaes sight.
They are the third largest producer in Australasia and the ONLY real player in the potentially rich NZ gold area which has been basicaly unexplored in an underground way.
One station (ranch) Bendigo could produce the largest single underground goldmine in Australasia as it did in 1861.
At present the gold mining being ubderstaken at Mcraes could be described as stolid, but the future for expansion in NZ with increasing gold returns is phenomonal.
