While I'm on my soapbox, it amazes me that Management and Directors of public companies place so little importance on marketing, and its necessity in supporting the share price.
At each Board meeting the first question that needs to be asked is "How can we improve shareholder value this month?"
The second question is "What message can we get to the market about our project and our future growth?"
Last year WME had a Boardroom coup, based on the premise that previous Management wasn't getting the job done. So what's the new Board and Management doing to rectify the situation? Who knows? They certainly aren't telling anyone! Shareholders are in the dark - due to a total lack of communication.
Like other companies in the resource sector, WME is competing for investors and funds. The only way to be competitive in this environment is to ramp up marketing and shout your message from the rooftops. It's not rocket science!
