Not saying they shouldn't be counted, but the numbers come with a lot of important context and also a lot of politics behind them, and that needs to be understood before comparing them to any other cause of death. I don't think a straight comparison can be done. Stroke, for instance, is not currently being used as a political tool for justifying various agendas.
