The greatest men throughout history all had spiritual natures. Some of them used religion to achieve this higher state. Religion at its best is a tool to achieve a state of consciousness where union with god can be realised, and it happens in stages. It astonishes me the ignorance on this thread. It's like teenagers who have no idea of history or anyone outside their own bedroom spouting tiny little exerpts of what they heard on the TV hat night.

Religion is a tool to achieve union with your spirit (or God, whatever you will call it). To say "oh, well where is this god then...I can't see him, therefore he is imaginary!" or "religions cause wars!!!" is missing the point entirely. Of course religion has been perverted by some religious leaders, I mean seriously do you think educated people don't know that???
