great gesture from Coles/WES.. However your kidding yourself if you think Coles is some sort of benevolent giver. Off course the mkting dept was involved and the plan would be to give something to the victims and garner positive vibes and future return visitation.
I understand the tragedy and have donated money myself, also I went to the NAB cup as they were donating some of the proceeds to the fire victims.
If people don't think polies and corporates are milking the situation for their own gain, I think they are naive. People need to understand it is part of their nature to do this. I am sure polies are really shocked and saddened like the rest of us, but other forces are also to the fore.
I worked for WES and have been involved in some of the charities/entities they give to... it is done for a return.
