These holes intersected significant shallow zones of mineralisation including 41m at 4% TREO + 0.21% Nb2O5 from 29m and 36m at 4.6% TREO + 0.32% Nb2O5 from surface including an ultrahigh-grade zone of 3m at 25.1% TREO + 0.45% Nb2O5.

The final assays received from the laboratory have confirmed the presence of niobium in significant concentrations within the previously reported intersections. Pyrochlore is a niobiumbearing mineral and has been identified in historic thin sections and is forming in the REE mineralised horizons. Assays received from this first batch contain grades of up to 1.39% Nb2O5. As a result, niobium will now be investigated as a possible by-product from any future operations.

The deposit also contains appreciable phosphate and scandium and these will be closely assessed going forward.
RareX Managing Director, Jeremy Robinson, said: “With niobium trading fairly consistently at about US$40/kg for much of the last decade, compared to an expected rare earth oxide price of US$15/kg, this could represent a significant by-product for the project. “Niobium is one of the 35 critical minerals identified by both the US and Australian governments as a mineral of strategic weakness due to their concentrated supply source – Brazil in the case of niobium.”

More you get in indicated quicker a Scoping Study can be done as more confidence in resource. ASX also less likely to pull anything up.

Both very good news, bring more results on I say. With China upping the ante this is a good space to be in.
