I am all for welfare for the deserving misty. But I can't stomach cash payouts to people on high incomes who frankly have no need for it. Howard got Australia hooked on middle class welfare and Rudd is perpetuating it. Welfare should be for the needy, it shouldn't be a merry go round whereby you pay more tax only to get it back sans the cost of bureaucracy.
Eagle says, "Im also sure most of the 8 million voting Australians will appreciate their important role in stimulating the economy." VOTING being the applicable word. Cynical politics being played.
