In realtion to RP price, here's a copy of my post earlier this week:

"In the same edition of Fert Week (which was Thurs 12 Feb 09) they reported "The phosphate rock fob Morocco benchmark price has been notionally assessed at $145-170/t fob". That's obviously in US dollars. They went on to say OCP's price indications at US$250-280/t fob reflect sales of small quantities to importers of RP for industrial use and thus not representative.....they go on to suggest the Morocco RP price assessment is based on phos acid at $760/t & sulphur at $60/t & reflects BPL range of 68-72%."

My take on this is its not based on actual sales but a reflection of and back-calculation from low DAP prices, which thakfully is on the rebound as Nth Hem goes into spring and fert prices stabilize after crazy highs last year followed by them falling off a cliff. A resumption of fert usage was inevitable.

We eagerly await a reporting of any signififcant RP sales and the price thereof.
